Windows Vista Snipping Tool Problems

This is a test post of Windows Live Writer. I’m making this test post as a consequence of an unrelated problem related to a useful Microsoft Windows Vista tool, the “snipping tool.”  Running Microsoft SFC diagnostics shows there is a problem with

"settings.ini" of Microsoft-Windows-Sidebar

There appears to be  no simple means to correct this problem.

I wanted to test if installing a snipping tool plugin for the Windows Sidebar might resolve the issue. However, the plugin continues to request an installation of Windows Live. As this blog entry shows that Windows Live is installed, the problem may also block the installation of the plugin.
